Hi everyone!
Right now I'm reading a book called The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. A quote/passage from the book is: "It was like Cinderella in reverse: if I was a princess for my daylight hours, at night I let myself and my composure go, just until the stroke of midnight, when I turned back to princess, just in time." My question for this book is: If the main character, Macy, is considering herself a princess, why would she want to change that? However, Macy is free to do whatever she wants. So, it would seem like she's making herself a princess by not doing something fun and random. For me, this quote is that it is kind of confusing, and hard to follow, but it does have a meaning. Sometimes I do feel like a Cinderella in reverse when I'm at home when doing absolutely nothing. All in all this book is really good.. so far, and I learned something like how "..." is called an ellipsis. lol, I didn't even know a variation of periods were a called a specific name.

Reading Journal :)
Hi!
So, this is the first reading journal for our new semester, I think. I'm almost finished with the book I'm currently reading, and I decided to post the quote that's on the front of a new book I just got. The quote is "Certain people come into your life... and leave a mark." This qoute is from Sweethearts by Sara Zarr. One question I have for this quote is: Do those certain people stay in your life forever? I guess they can stay, but sooner or later you start "unknowing" each other. For me, unknowing means you know someone, but then you start to forget about each other completely. Another question is: How would you know when one person left a mark? I guess some marks can be life changing, but people can leave little marks too. Right? Anyways, I really like this quote because everyone can relate to it someway. For me, I can name a few people that left a mark in my life. They are mostly friends and family members. But, just like I said, there were times when we started unknowing each other, which is like one of the saddest thing in the world. It's sad because if I walk past an old friend in the hall, it would seem like nothing happened between us. That did happen a couple times in my middle school actually. Well, I g2g. ttyl!

What is Media?
So, this blog post is another humanities assignment, and during this assignment, we have to explain what I think the definition of media is. Today we watched a video during class that has the perspective of one person who only sees advertisements everywhere. I have to admit it was pretty cool, but it got me thinking about how much advertisements were out there. So without further adieu.... My definition for media is like anything that is presented to the world that affects people. For me, it's mostly television, pictures, music, advertisements and the internet. When I say "affects people," what I mean is you will do something about it eventually. Just looking/watching/listening to media basically affects you even if you don't know it. Other than that, media can also be art. For example, media can be paintings, sketches, poetry, sculptures, etc. Books, magazines, and newspapers can also count as a type of media. Everything you read affects you. That's what my mom said a couple weeks ago when I was starting this new book. Well, that's pretty much it! ttyl!

First Reading Journal in a Long Time..
Hey everyone,
So, I decided to do my reading journal a little early so I can keep reparing for our upcoming PoLs. I just started a new book, but I haven't really gotten that into it yet, so I'm gonna talk about a book I read during break. It's called As Simple as Snow by Gregory Galloway. This book is kind of confusing in the end, but also interesting. As Simple as Snow like a mystery book because all of a sudden a girl name Anna Cayne suddenly disappears. No one knows where she went and she never left anything behind. The only thing that the police found was a neatly folded dress next too a hole in the frozen river that cuts through town. The main character which is also the narrator is Anna's boyfriend, and supposedly he has all the answers to where she went. So, he tries to figure it out, but he can't. What's kind of weird about this book is you never know what's the narrators name. So, it's like a huge mystery to us. So, since the book got my interest, I went to the website, and registered it to send me a clue to where Anna Cyane went. A week later, I got this email. All it said was: Forever Breathes the Lonely Word. It was just that, and attached to it was a picture of half a guy's face with a pinkish-orangish background. That's it. I was like "OMG, that's it!" But I decided to do some research on it. I fond out that "Forever Breathes a Lonely Word" is the name of an alternative rock record released in 1986 by a British band named Felt. That's all I found though, which was kinda sad. I don't know if there's any more clues like this, but that clue led me to nothing.
:( So, I guess it'll still be a mystery to me where she went, but you never know, maybe something will pop up soon.
